The Short Film Contest is a unique and innovative online international short film script competition. Its aim is to find the next generation of talented scriptwriters out there. The Short Film Contest strives to create exciting opportunities for outstanding writing talent by bringing their work to the big screen.
Entry is FREE, the winning entrant of the Contest will receive a cash prize of £250 and their script will be produced as a short film with a budget of up to £25,000. The finished film will be entered into film festivals in the UK and internationally.

The Short Film Contest is open to anyone of any age of any nationality.
Acceptable genres for entries are: • Comedy • Drama • Horror/Thriller • Action/Adventure
Entries must be original works, owned entirely by the entrant(s) and not currently under option, sold or already produced.
Entries should be between 5 and 30 pages in length and must have a final running time of no less than 10 and no more than 20 minutes.
There is no limit to the number of scripts that may be entered into the Contest by the same entrant(s).
The winning script will be produced as a short film with a budget of up to £25,000. It will be produced by Impasse Pictures, a UK-based film production company that develops and nurtures new talent. Production of the winning script will take place during the summer of 2011 and the finished film will be entered into film festivals in the UK and internationally as part of Impasse’s RGB short film series.
There is also a cash prize of £250 for the writer(s) of the winning script.
