Grundlæggende Dramaturgi og Fortælleteknik II - Karakteren 

Kurset handler om, hvordan man skaber velfungerende troværdige karakterer på film. Det henvender sig til dig der allerede har været på Grundlæggende Dramaturgi I eller som bare har lyst til at bruge tre dage på at udforske karakteren. 
 
Kurset veksler mellem filmklip, historier fra vores egne liv og skriveøvelser.
 
Kurset ledes af Ida Maria Rydén og afholdes onsdag d. 16. til og med fredag d. 18. juni 2010. Kurset har deadline for tilmelding d. 10. maj.

2 courses with Angus Finney: "Creative Management in the Film Business" and "Entrepreneurship and Management in Film Business"

Course 1: Creative Management in the Film Business 

 
This course is designed to examine the role of the film value chain and where creative people (writers, directors, creative producers, etc.) and managers operate within the film business – both from a generic and practical perspective. Angus Finney will deliver a range of lectures and workshops that will cover the film value chain, film development from a management perspective, the creative process of packaging a project, and leading and managing creative tasks from marketing to talent.
   
Candidates will learn to:
1. Recognize and evaluate the film industry’s value chain
2. Assess and explore the creative process of development and the challenge for managers
3. Understand the controls and tools of poor next to effective management
4. Understand the different goals and values of creative talent
5. Player Value Chain: navigating the market in terms of producers, agents, managers and financiers
6. Understand the demands and controls required to keep films and companies on track
7. Maintaining talent relationships and building longer term value: brands and franchises
8. Marketing tools and the creative process

Project management
Keeping your intangible assets onside: brands and franchises
Understanding creative process re tools for marketing
 
It is preferable that candidates take both courses where possible. There are specific links between the commercial and business module and the creative management module, and we recommend that participants will capture more benefit from doing them together.
 
The course takes place at The National Film School of Denmark Thursday June 17th till Friday June 18th 2010. Both days from 9:30 am - 5:30 pm.

Course 2: Entrepreneurship and Management in Film Business 

 
This course is designed to examine the role of entrepreneurs and managers within the film business – both from a generic and practical modus operandi. Angus Finney will deliver a range of lectures and workshops that will cover film business models, business plans for film companies, role of entrepreneurs in the film business, and specific workshops on project management and leadership. 
    
Candidates will learn to:
1. Recognize and evaluate the film industry’s key financial and risk taking players
2. Assess and explore risk taking
3. Understand the controls and tools of risk management
4. Understand tools and analyze approaches to investment opportunities
5. Assess and navigate the market for film investment proposals
6. Understand the demands and controls when running a business
7. Closing down...how to manage the administration and closure of a company

Angus Finney

Angus Finney is a course director and visiting lecturer on film and media businesses at Cass Business School, City University London. He teaches at the MSc and MBA level, and works with the UK’s Regional Screen Agencies, the South African National Film and Video Foundation and Abu Dhabi Film Commission as a trainer and consultant. He is Film London’s Project Manager for the Production Finance Market, an annual event, and has had practitioner experience as Managing Director of Renaissance Films, a production, finance and sales company that was expanded with investment from the City in 1999. He has worked as a media specialist and journalist, and his previous books include: Developing Feature Films in Europe: A Practical Guide (1996), The State of European Cinema (1996) and The Egos Have Landed: The Rise and Fall of Palace Pictures (1996).
